LATEST RELEASE FROM ALIX
You messed it up with the person you love most. They said it's over and they’re not coming back. All you have left is your memories, photographs and hope that they will change their mind. You know you only have yourself to blame for taking something so special for granted so you sit and wait optimistically by the window, hoping you might see their car driving up. You dream of the love you know is still between you two, if only they would just realize it.
“Just In Case” is a smooth and addictive love letter of a song with similar stylings to Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams, Fletcher, Tate McRae, Maren Morris and other bedroom pop artists.

BEHIND THE MAKING OF 'JUST IN CASE'
I wanted the lyrics to be as pure and natural as the music was. I took my time with them. I was going through a lot emotionally and I wanted to capture something real but simple and not too complicated. I would wait to feel emotions that I felt matched the feeling of the song. I added little by little as time went on. The song and melodies had tones of longing, of love and hope, I wanted to capture these emotions in my lyrics as well. Something melancholy and sweet. Both happy and sad. In the end I knew it had come together in the way it was supposed to. Everything flowed with ease.
We recorded my vocals in my home studio in Mill Valley, CA. It took a few hours.
I tried to give a vocal performance that was soft, delicate and hopeful while evoking emotions from deep within. A strong tone with smooth edges. I thought it would best match the emotion of the lyrics and the music. Once everything was sounding polished, I sent the song off to my mixing and mastering engineer, for the finishing touches.

The content of the song is simple. A girl met a boy and they immediately clicked. But it was bad timing. She was not in a place in her life to entertain such feelings. So she told him to leave and not speak to her again. He listened and left her alone. She tried to ignore it but she spent her days wishing he would come back. She hoped to look up and see his car coming down the street. To look up and see him waiting for her. Maybe he would read her mind and was thinking of her too. Maybe he wouldn't listen and he would come back to see her.

She knew that he knew where to find her if he decided to come looking. She waited to see if he would come back.
And he did.
